PLEASE NOTE THERE MAYBE DELAYS IN YOUR ORDER DUE TO MANUFACTURING ISSUES AT AIM
The AIM Solo is a stand alone GPS Laptimer with MANY features. The Solo DL can also be connected to your bike via specific lead that allows you to data logger certain parameters and use these along with GPS Lap time to analyse your riding to a greater degree.
The Aim Solo is a completely automatic lap timer based on GPS technology.
Using its GPS based location, it identifies the finish line coordinates and automatically starts sampling and displaying lap times. Of course, Solo can be used in all of your performance situations: circuits, hill climbs, regularity, point to point races, and performance tests. Solo displays and records speed, accelerations, braking… all of the data you need while racing. Then you can review your data immediately after each session, this helps you analyse and improve your performance.
The most important feature of Solo is to show your lap times.
When Solo is powered up, it automatically recognizes the start/finish line coordinates of the track you are visiting based on the huge list of World tracks stored on Solo’s internal memory, this allows very precise lap times with very little effort.
To calculate laptimes Solo must have the start/finish line coordinates stored in memory and each Solo includes more than 200 world tracks:
When you arrive at your favorite track, Solo determines its GPS position, automatically identifies the track and then loads the tracks start/finish line coordinates:
Solo is then ready to calculate and display laptimes.
If the track is not included in the database, it is always possible to add the start/finish line coordinates right at the track (see image) or the values can be sent to Solo via your PC before going to the track, using the GPS Manager software.
SoloDL features all the functions of Solo, plus the ability to connect to your Bike's ECU: this makes of SoloDL a powerful dash logger recording all the important data coming from the vehicle Engine Control Unit. Additional sensors and complicated wiring are not required anymore.
To connect Solo you just need to choose the cable that fits to yourBike: SoloDL comes with a choice of cables for stock/production bikes or for racing/aftermarket ECUs. Like Solo, SoloDL allows users to configure custom pages to show all the desired data. After each test you will be able to analyze all the data recorded in graphs, histograms and tables: you will evaluate your performance at all positions on the track with the Race Studio 2 software. And – last but not least – all these data can be displayed on videos recorded by SmartyCam HD, the AiM on-board camera designed for motorsports.
Aim systems acquire data from the ECU of your vehicle. The list of available ECU drivers, constantly updated and upgraded, is published here: it includes over a 1,000 different ECUs, either Stock and Racing. They are sorted by manufacturer/vehicle model: for each ECU you find the proprietary communication protocols, including the standard OBDII ones. From a hardware point of view, AiM systems manage the following data lines:
SoloDL can easily be connected to the AiM SmartyCam HD, creating an even more powerful system. The on-board camera accepts data from SoloDL, both GPS and ECU based data, and overlays the data directly onto the videos. The SmartyCam HD can read the ECU data and GPS laptimes sampled by SoloDL
On SoloDL display you can see SmartyCam HD status details i.e. the amount of free microSD card memory, battery level, recording status, diagnostic messages, etc.
